My name is Ruben Martinez Jr. I'm a Boston-based photographer with a passion for capturing authentic, intimate portraits.

What started as a curiosity about photography has evolved into a deep love for the art of portraiture. I'm drawn to the challenge of capturing people at their most authentic—whether that's in the controlled environment of a studio or out in the spontaneity of urban settings. Every session is an opportunity to collaborate and create something meaningful together.

My artistic interests center around lifestyle, fashion, lingerie, boudoir, and implied or art nude portrait photography. With over 8years of professional industry experience, I specialize in creating intimate, editorial-quality images that balance technical precision with genuine emotion.

I most often shoot with a Sony a1 mirrorless camera paired with macro lenses—an intentional choice that allows me to capture intimately framed portraits with beautiful depth and detail. The shallow depth of field creates a dreamy, cinematic quality that draws the eye directly to the subject. For a more lively artistic flaire, I like using a Petzval lens to create chaotic bokeh. I also occasionally work with my Leica for a different aesthetic, and offer Polaroid instant film photography for clients who want that artistic, vintage look.

I work with each client individually to figure out what shoot and style makes sense for them and their goals. All packages include a pre-shoot consultation where we'll discuss your vision, preferred styles, and any specific shots you'd like, as well as professional guidance on posing, wardrobe, and styling throughout the session. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. All photos are professionally edited and retouched to ensure you look and feel your best!
